Mr. Jami Chandio

Mr. Jami Chandio is renowned writer, scholar, and activist. He is executive
director of the Center for Peace and Civil Society (CPCS), a think tank
based in Pakistan’s Sindh province. He edits CPCS’ quarterly
journal Freedom and oversees policy dialogues and research
programs that target civil society, especially young writers, journalists
and academia. One of Pakistan’s most celebrated writers and
scholars, Mr. Chandio is the former editor in-charge of Ibrat, Pakistan’s largest Sindhi-language daily newspaper, a former anchor
on Sindh TV and KTN, and former chair of the Liberal Forum of Pakistan. The
only two-time winner of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society Award (in
2000 and 2001), he has authored more than a dozen books in Sindhi, Urdu,
and English on literature, politics and Sindh.
He has worked
with the National Democratic Institute (NDI) in Pakistan as a political
expert since 2004. He was awarded Reagan Fascell Democracy
Fellowship in fall 2008 by International Forum for Democratic Studies,
Washington DC andduring his fellowship; Mr. Chandio conducted
research on the ‘Crisis of Federalism and Prospects for Provincial
Autonomy in Pakistan’ and wrote a book on the subject.
He represented South Asia as a political expert in an international
CALD-ALDE conference in European Parliament-Brussels in 2004. He is
alumni of various regional and international policy think tanks like
‘Regional Center for Strategic Studies-Colombo’ (RCSS),
‘Wilton Park-UK’, and ‘International Academy for
Leadership-Germany’ (IAF) ‘United States Institute of
Peace’ (USIP) Washington DC and ‘International forum for
Democratic Studies’, ‘National Endowment for Democracy’
(NED). He is member of ‘Network of
Democracy Research Institutes’ (NDRI), world’s largest
network of democracy research institutes. His fields of interests
include Politics, Pure Literature and Philosophy.

Ms. Bilquees Javed heads the administration and accounts section of
CPCS. She has vast experience of teaching and administration. She is
sociologist by training and she has done B.Ed from University of Sindh.

Amir Raza Memon
Senior Program
Officer |
 |
Mr Amir Raza Memon is senior program officer of CPCS who heads the desk
of advocacy and training section. Mr. Memon also conducts a weekly TV
talk show on policies issues on Sindh TV. He is alumni of United States
International Visitors Programs for Leadership and visited USA in September
2009. He is one of vibrant voices of democracy in civil society of Sindh
and Pakistan.

Irshad Laghari

Mr. Irshad Laghari is program officer of CPCS and heads the desk of
literature development of political and civic education. He is an experienced
journalist, poet and man of letters. He writes weekly column for daily
Ibrat Hyderabad, Sindh. He is also assistant editor of Quarterly journal
FREEDOM.

Mr.Jamil Hussain Junejo

Mr.Jamil Junejo is program officer working in monitoring and evaluation
section of CPCS. He is a writer as well development activist having
Masters in English from University of Sindh.
He has been writing articles on various themes published mainly in Indus
Asia Online Journal .Mr. Junejo has been honored with award of best
fellow of the one year ‘Youth Leadership Development Program"
by CPCS, Centre for Peace and civil society.
Areas of his interest are Politics, History, Literature and comparative
study of religions. He has special interest of program management, manual
development, coordination, team building, Monitoring & Evaluation
and development of organizational and institutional capacities.

Mr. Muneer Hussain Chandio is Assistant program Officer/Publication
Officer of CPCS. He is young writer and student of Sindhi literature
who has interest in research. He looks after production of publications
of CPCS and also works as sub editor of Quarterly Journal FREEDOM.

Mr. Suleman Samejo

Mr. Suleman Samejo is in charge of computer section of CPCS. He looks
after all the matters related to computer section. He designs the titles
of all publications of CPCS and composes all the books, reports and
manuals. He is an experienced professional who has worked more than
10 years in this field.

Mr. Shafi Burhamani is office assistant and circulation manager of CPCS.
He also looks after logistics of CPCS trainings and advocacy seminars.
He makes videography and photography of all CPCS activities.
